MIA Scholarships

The Moorestown Improvement Association, a 501(c)4 non-profit, is pleased to support the youth of Moorestown by offering scholarships. MIA currently offers 2 scholarships: The MIA Scholarship and the Ellen Shiplee Memorial Scholarship.

The MIA Scholarship

Moorestown Improvement AssociationThe Moorestown Improvement Association is pleased to offer a scholarship to a Moorestown High School senior who has contributed to the enhancement of the community of Moorestown. The scholarship for 2017 is in the amount of $1,000.

The application for the MIA Scholarship must be postmarked by April 30, 2017

The Ellen Shiplee Scholarship

The MIA is pleased to offer the Ellen Shiplee Scholarship to a Moorestown High School senior who has demonstrated volunteerism and service to society. The 2016 scholarship is in the amount of $1,000.

Ellen Shiplee graduated from Moorestown High School in 1935. She felt strongly that it is our obligation to care for those less fortunate and that volunteerism is essential to our humanity and promotes involvement in the community. She founded Family Service of Burlington County in 1962 and was an Emeritus Board Member of the MIA until her death.

The application for the Ellen Shiplee Scholarship must be postmarked by April 30, 2017
